Earlier this week, our fellow M.D.G. family members along the East Coast and especially New Jersey have fallen victim to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. Some to the point of total loss and homelessness.
While we, the MDG, have stood together to support various bands, we now are forced to humbly ask that we stand proudly together and support our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons & daughters.
Effective immediately, we are beginning our own MDG Hurricane Relief Drive with ALL proceeds going to victims of the hurricane within our MDG family.
We have never asked anyone for any type assistance and had hoped there would never be a need, but these are extraordinary circumstances in which our own MDG family members are suffering and I cannot stand idly by and do nothing. Therefore, I am going to personally auction off various collectibles, and memorabilia including but not limited to autographed CD's, autographed t-shirts, guitars, rare metal comic books & a only-one-of-a-kind-in-the-world Dimebag Darrell bowling ball w/ showcase stand.
We are also working on creating a new MDG T-Shirt and hats for sale with partial proceeds going toward the MDG Hurricane Relief fund with MDG Hurricane Relief on them in some sense. We are currently working on the logistics of the shirts and whether or not any other merch will be made available once we determine cost from printer.
Until that time, donations of any denomination can be made via paypal in any amount via musicdiscussiongroup@gmail.com
If you do not have a Paypal account, a Donate button will also be added to allow for donations of any amount to be made via credit card that will be processed through Paypal to ensure secure processing.
Rest assured that ALL donations are being recorded and a complete breakdown of donations received and disbursements of the contributions will be made public to the group as we believe in 100% transparency during this process. We are also in the process of applying for status as an official 501.c3 charitable organization to allow for any contributions to be tax deductible, but I will state beforehand that at this time, they are not. I am hoping that we will receive our status prior to Dec. 31, 2012 and as long as we do, your donation SHOULD be tax deductible as it is going to charity but I am honestly not sure as we are currently at this moment not an "official" charity. Like I said, I just want to be completely up front & honest with everyone before you make any type of donations or contributions. The mission here is to simply help one another in a time of need. Nothing more.
Please......while donations and participation are obviously not required of anyone, we simply ask that you think of your fellow human being at this time of need if you have the means to be able to offer assistance at this time. Thank you in advance.
